Ice Pond #2 is part of the Ice Pond Series of sculptural paintings loosely inspired by many visits to this nature conservation area in Brewster, New York late 2023 and into 2024.

Each painting triggered different memories of my experiences hiking the trails.

• Hanging out on a rocky lookout spot taking in the sun and feeling a little uneasy as the group of vultures glide through the air very near where I'm trying to nap. I guess I don't want to look too dead - that's my main focus - and it's hard to get those wonderful meditative experiences while worrying if my eyes are going to be safe if I close them for a bit...
