Ice Pond #4 is part of the Ice Pond Series of sculptural paintings loosely inspired by many visits to this nature conservation area in Brewster, New York late 2023 and into 2024.

Each painting triggered different memories of my experiences hiking the trails.

• Growing up I spent some time around dirt roads and have a pleasant reaction when I think about my dirt road experiences. To be clear, my time with dirt roads is more than a few times, but not regular. I'm always a little surprised when I come across a dirt road here in New York, only about an hour North of NYC. I like the ice pond dirt road. It feels like a really wide nature trail, it's very picturesque at every turn and in between .
