Ice Pond #5 is part of the Ice Pond Series of sculptural paintings loosely inspired by many visits to this nature conservation area in Brewster, New York late 2023 and into 2024.

Each painting triggered different memories of my experiences hiking the trails.

Late March 2024 - 47 degrees and overcast:

Not much of a breeze

The ground is damp and softer to walk on

No one else is around today

I like to hike alone, not all the time, but it's a great way to connect with the life outside and to quiet or focus my thoughts.
